The North York Moors Heritage Railway, everyone’s favourite steam train, is a short drive away in neighbouring Pickering. The atmospheric abbeys of Rievaulx and Byland, the medieval city of York and the foodie town of Malton are all Yorkshire gems waiting to be discovered.
